He was a standout running back and one of the first McNeese players to go on and play in the NFL. During his years with the Cowboys he was twice named his team’s MVP, was named to the all-Gulf States Conference team and accumulated 1,969 yards rushing, still 11th on the school’s all-time list. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears and played there and with the Los Angeles Rams, starting as a defensive back. He would later go into the coaching field, serving as a head coach in high school and junior college and as an assistant coach in college at Lamar. He also spent a time as director of housing at Lamar and is now retired.
