McNeese State University Athletics

Once ranked as the top shot putter in the world, he was a record setter in both the shot put and the discus for the Cowboys. Over a two year period he won three Southland Conference shot put titles. Twice he was named the team’s most valuable athlete and he was also selected McNeese’s athlete of the year for the 1990-91 season. He continues to hold the school record for the shot put of 61-7 3/4 and until recently had held the discus record. For 12 years he com­peted on the international track scene and had a best of 74-4 in the shot put.
