A two sport performer, he is the only Cowboy to ever have been named a most valuable player in both football and basketball. Both honors came during the junior college days of the university. He was the football MVP in 1946 and the basketball MVP in 1948. He would later go on to earn a degree from Louisiana-Lafayette (then SLI) and play in the professional ranks with Baltimore. He would also return to McNeese and serve as an assistant football coach in the 1950s before going into the banking business. He is now retired and living in Lake Charles.
