FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – McNeese junior runner
Henry Kiplagat just missed out on earned All-Region honors at Friday's running of the NCAA South Central Cross Country Regional meet when he led the Cowboys by finishing in 30
th place in the 10-kilometer race.
Kiplagat ran a time of 31:17.8 and was the sixth-fastest runner from the Southland Conference to finish the race.
As a team, the Cowboys finished 12
th with 320 points and was the second-highest conference team finish. Texas won the team title with 39 points followed by Arkansas with 67, Texas A&M 128, Lamar 134 and Rice 202 to round out the top five teams.
Following Kiplagat for McNeese finishers was

th.

th with a time of 32:28.7;

Arkansas ran away with the women's title in the 6-kilometer race with runners finishing 1-5 and a team total of 24.
The Cowgirls finished 21
st with 560 points and had to run the race without top runner
Bonnie Andres who was ruled out earlier in the week with a leg injury.
Allisa Lander led the Cowgirls with a time of 23:07.9 to finish 76
th. Other McNeese finishers saw

Following Arkansas in the team rankings were Texas with 63 points, Texas A&M at 106; UT-Rio Grande Valley 164; and Rice with 180 to round out the top five teams.
