McNeese and former Southland Conference member SFA are meeting for the 80th time overall. The Cowboys leads the all-time series with a 49-30 record.
Last Time Out:
The Pokes are coming off a three-game series where they went 1-2 against Eastern Illinois, losing games one and three by one run, both runs unearned.
SS Reid Bourque recorded six hits in the series (6-12) with a double, a home run, three RBIs, and two stolen bases. Bourque's homer came in career start no. 200 in Saturday's 6-2 win. OF Braden Duhon also hit .500 in the series (5-10), he had a double and drove in a pair. Starting all three games of the weekend series for the first time this season, C/DH Kade Hunter delivered hitting .462 (6-13) with a double, a home run, and four runs batted in.
RHP Ty Abraham recorded the win in game two going 5.1 innings allowing just one run to go along with four Ks.
INF Josh Leslie made his season debut starting all three contests after missing the first few weeks with injury. The Mesa CC transfer recorded the first two hits of his career Sunday.
About McNeese:
2B Brad Burckel (.381) and OF Payton Harden (.361) lead the Cowboys in hitting. Burckel leads the club with four homers and is tied with 1B Peyton Johnson with 16 runs driven in. The Cowboys ranked fifth in the nation with 50 stolen bases, Harden (12), Burckel (9), OF Julian Gonzales (9), and Reid Bourque (8) are at the forefront of the attack on the basepath.
Closer Cameron Foster's six saves are the fourth most in College Baseball. He's 1-0 with a 0.51 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 17.2 innings. Tuesday starter Tyler Stone has made six appearances this season and has struck out 14 batters in 6.1 innings. The Cowboys lead the Southland with a 4.23 ERA and 200 strikeouts over 181.0 innings.
About SFA:
The Lumberjacks have gone 4-13 this season after a 4-4 start. SFA was on the wrong end of a sweep this past weekend against fellow WAC opponent Abilene Christian. Catcher Skylar Black paces SFA at the plate batting .283 with seven homers and 34 runs driven in. 1B Jordan Monacy, OF Cameron Crawford, and INF Chaney Dodge each have five home runs. They are batting .237 as a team. The Lumberjacks are 1-4 at Jaycees Field this season. Head coach Johnny Cardenas has been leading their program since 2008.

The Cowboys will open up conference play this weekend hosting Houston Baptist for a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM Friday and Saturday, and 1 PM on Sunday.
