LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese baseball team will continue its eight-game homestand with a pair of midweek contests against in-state foe Louisiana Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and Wednesday, Feb. 18, which are slated to begin at 1 o'clock each day.
Both games will be featured on Cajun Radio 1470 AM in Lake Charles and online at CajunRadio.com. Tom Hoefer and Bruce Merchant will provide the call for the game. Fans can keep up with in-game updates and other information by logging on to Twitter @McNeeseBaseball.

McNeese (3-0) opened its season with a dominating series sweep over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Cowboys limited the Lions to just 12 hits and 10 runs and a .138 opponent batting average over the span of three contests.
The Pokes posted a .350 batting average over the weekend, with junior
Cameron Toole leading the way with a .857 batting average along with six hits, two doubles, two walks, three RBI and two runs scored. Junior-transfer
Connor Crane also has an outstanding weekend at the plate batting .462 along with six hits, two doubles, two homeruns, two RBIs and three runs scored. With 35 hits, eight walks, and six hit batters over a three game stretch, the Cowboys posted a .422 on-base percentage against UAPB. McNeese was also a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts with Crane and senior
Andrew Guillotte led the team with two apiece.
The McNeese pitching staff had an outstanding weekend on the mound with sophomore
Trent Fontenot leading the charge after having tossing six innings and allowing just one run to score on two hits and struck out five batters for a 1.50 ERA. The bullpen contributed eight innings of its own and allowed just two runs for a 2.25 ERA.
The Cowboys will send senior right-hander
Steven O'Bryant to the mound for Tuesday's contest. O'Bryant appeared in 28 games last season and posted a 3-5 record with a 3.55 ERA. Expected to take the mound for McNeese on Wednesday is senior
Cole Prejean. Prejean worked 1.2 innings against UAPB over the weekend and posted a 6-4 record and 3.69 ERA last season.
Louisiana Tech (0-3), who is led by first-year head coach Greg Goff, made the trip to Hammond over the weekend and was swept by Southeastern Louisiana. The Bulldogs were unable to warm up the bats as they struggled with a .178 team clip and only six runs in the series.
McNeese split a two-game series with Louisiana Tech last season in Ruston. The Cowboys fell to the Bulldogs in the first game with a 6-4 loss in 11 innings before exploding for a 20-3 victory in the second game.
