FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference released its 2016 Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field All-Academic teams on Tuesday and McNeese was represented with seven student-athletes including two-time selections
Oliver James,
John Lemke, and
Maegan Moore along with
Nicole Casper, who was an automatic selection for being a conference champion.
James and Lemke, both juniors, were joined on the men's team by senior
Enock Bor while the senior Casper was joined on the women's team by seniors
Gemma Bridge and
Katja Woelfl.
Lemke, a bronze medalist in the triple jump and a regional qualifier, compiled a 3.23 GPA in accounting. James posted a 3.68 GPA in biological sciences while Bor had a 3.55 GPA in mathematics.
Casper, the school record holder in the pole vault and the league's outdoor champion and regional qualifier, posted a 3.17 GPA in health and human performance. Bridge posted a 3.37 undergrad GPA and a perfect 4.0 grad school mark in health and human performance while Woelfl posted a 4.0 GPA in business administration.
Moore, a repeat selection on the all-academic squad, had a 3.34 mark in health and human performance.
Taylor Adams of Sam Houston State and Alexandria Hackett of Abilene Christian were named the league's men's and women's student-athlete of the year respectively.
