Giorgia Pozzan

Giorgia Pozzan enters her third year as head coach of the McNeese tennis squad after spending four years as an assistant coach at Florida State.

In her first season at the helm, Pozzan led the Cowgirls to the Southland Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed and coaching Charoline Erlandsson to an 18-2 singles record that included a 4-0 mark in No. 1 action and 14-2 at the No. 2 spot. Erlandsson went on to earn All-Louisiana honors as well as Southland Conference All-Academic accolades.
 
Pozzan played a vital role in the Seminoles back-to-back NCAA tournament births and their 2018 NCAA Elite 8 appearance.
 
In 2012-13, Pozzan was a volunteer assistant coach at Houston. She helped lead the Cougars to a 21-6 record including trips to the NCAA Tournament and the Conference USA Championships.

After Houston, she spent a year as a teaching assistant at UH in the sociology department. During the summer she plays tennis in Italy in Series B.

As a player at Houston, Pozzan led the Cougars both seasons in dual singles play. She finished her career with a record of 50-17, ranking third all-time in Houston school history with a 74.6 winning percentage. Pozzan also tallied a 48-21 overall doubles record in two seasons with the Cougars. She was named to the All C-USA Second Team in 2012 and to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2011 and 2012. Before playing at Houston, Pozzan spent her first two years at Sam Houston State.

Pozzan graduated with a master's degree in sociology from the University of Houston.Â
