McNeese dedicated its playing field at Cowgirl Diamond to Joe Miller on April 7, 2018. The Cowgirls have been playing here since the 2003 season, when they moved into the newly constructed facility.

The field received a facelift in the form of a fully turfed field that was installed in February of 2018, in time for the 2018 season opener against Virginia in the Cowgirl Classic.

The grandstands with covering in the center section at Joe Miller Field has two general admission seating areas, one on the east side for Cowgirl fans and one on the west side for visiting team fans.

During the fall of 2012, Cowgirl Diamond opened the H.I.T. The House of Indoor Training or "H.I.T" facility is located down the right field line. The new facility allows for protection from the weather while the Cowgirls are receiving hitting instructions.

A new Daktronics scoreboard (donated by Carl and Carla Vincent) is complete with up-to-date information for fans, was installed prior to the 2018 season.

Prior to the 2006 season, a press box and concession stand were added to make Joe Miller Field one of the best venues in the state of Louisiana.

Joe Miller field dimensions measure 205 feet down the lines and 215 feet straight away center field.

McNeese has hosted the 2009, 2016, 2018, 2023 Southland Conference Softball Tournament as well as the 2025 SLC Tournament Championship Series.Â
