McNeese (6-8-1, 4-4 SLC) looks to better its position in the league standings with just two weeks left in the regular season. Currently sitting in fifth place, a weekend sweep along with help from other teams in the conference could help the Cowgirls clinch a spot in the postseason tournament.
Having won three of its last five matches, McNeese has continued to climb steadily up the conference standings, scoring victories in its last two matches against Northwestern State and Lamar.
Sophomore
Savannah LaRicci will lead the Cowgirl offense into the weekend with five goals and two assists on the season. Freshman sensation
Sierra Sisco will look to add to her account on Friday as she has scored three goals this year.
Junior
Lauren Sestak looks to anchor the McNeese defense to another shutout on Friday. Sestak has recorded a 0.76 goals against average, a .818 save percentage and two shutouts this season.
Incarnate Word (1-11-2, 1-4-2 SLC) is coming off a weekend draw with rival Abilene Christian. The Lady Cardinals tied 1-1 against the Wildcats and have not scored a victory in conference since a 1-0 upset victory over Central Arkansas in early October.
Sarah Johnson paces the UIW offense with three goals and an assist on the season while goalkeeper Heather Kowalik comes into the match with a 1.87 goals against average and 35 saves.
Following Friday's contest, the Cowgirls will travel to take on Abilene Christian on Sunday with the match slated to kick-off at 1 o'clock.
