HAMMOND- After winning the opening set 25-19 to take a 1-0 lead in a Southland Conference match at Southeastern Louisiana, the McNeese volleyball team dropped the next three sets 25-16, 25-21, 25-17 to drop the overall match 3-1.

McNeese dropped to 10-10 overall and 1-4 in the SLC with the loss while SE La. improved to 6-11 overall and 3-2 in the SLC.

The Cowgirls played the majority of the match without its only senior and team leader
Rachel Cagnina who is battling an injury she suffered against Lamar last Thursday.

Three Cowgirls ended the match with 10 or more kills and were led by junior
Amber Fryer's 14.
Rebecca Korenek and
Maegan Carlton both had 10 kills apiece on the night. Korenek led McNeese with four blocks.

Malina Sanchez, who played as the Cowgirls' libero in tonight's match, recorded a match-high 25 digs.Â
Kara Rockey picked up 11 digs and setter
Kelly Graham dished out 41 assists.

Southeastern La. was paced by Landry Bullock's 18 kills and .410 hitting percent.

McNeese will continue its road trip to league leading Central Arkansas for a 7 p.m. match Thursday night before returning home for a rare Sunday match against Incarnate Word beginning at 3 p.m.
