Box Score THIBODEAUX—McNeese State's senior Rachel Cagnina's playing career came to an end as did the volleyball season with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-22) loss at Nicholls today. The Cowgirls end the season with a 15-17 overall record and 5-11 in league play.
 
Both teams entered the final match of the season playing for the eighth and final spot for next week's Southland Conference Tournament.
 
After dropping the first two sets, McNeese had a chance to extend the match after taking a 14-9 third set lead.  Nicholls scored the next five points to tie the set at 14 all. The set would go on to be tied four more times before Nicholls took the lead for good and eventually won the set and the match.
 
Cagnina was the only Cowgirl to record double figure kills with 10. She also led the team with a .214 hitting percent. Adison Giambrone led a trio of Cowgirls who picked up double figure digs with 16.  Malina Sanchez picked up 14 digs and Kimberlyn Patterson was credited with 10.
