LAKE CHARLES-- After a seven-day break for semester finals, McNeese women's basketball returns to the hardwood Wednesday, Dec. 10 for a 7 p.m. contest against Centenary.
The Cowgirls (4-2) return to Burton Coliseum for their sixth home game of the season to host a Centenary team that is currently winless at 0-7 on the season. The Ladies will travel to LSU-Alexandria Tuesday night before heading to Lake Charles on Wednesday.
For McNeese, junior
Allison Baggett continues to pace the Cowgirls in scoring with 13.3 ppg. Baggett has led the Cowgirls in scoring in four of six games this season and has scored in double figures in three of the last four.
Senior
Talisa Boyd leads the team with 5.7 rpg. and a 65.0 field goal shooting percent. Sophomore
Haily Jenkins paces the Cowgirls with a 90.0 free throw percent and a 41.7 three-point field goal percent. Junior
Jayln Johnson is dishing out 1.8 assists per game and is second on the team in scoring with 9.5 ppg. Johnson is coming off a game high 21 points in the win over Wiley.
As a team, the Cowgirls are averaging 61.3 points per game and have scored a season high 83 against Louisiana College in the season opener. The Cowgirls aren't shooting as well from the field as they would hope to at this point in the season. The Cowgirls will look to improve on their 33.3 shooting percent from the field and their 26.5 shooting percent from behind the arc. A place the Cowgirls have used to their advantage in their last three home wins is the free throw line where they are shooting 68.0 percent.
Centenary heads into its game Tuesday against LSU-Alexandria giving up an average of 85.3 ppg. while the Ladies are averaging 54.4 ppg.
Forward Briana Edwards leads the Ladies with 12.3 ppg. and 8.3 rpg. Rebecca Thompson is second on the team in scoring with 9.7 ppg. and 7.3 rpg.
