LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will look to get back into the win column Thursday night when the Cowgirls travel to Hammond to take on Southeastern La. in a 7 p.m. Southland Conference game.

McNeese (10-8, 4-3 SLC) enters the game tied for fifth place in the league standings but are only two and a half games out of first place Northwestern State. The Cowgirls who have played their last three games on the road have won two of them including a 79-74 win over Sam Houston State and a 104-101 double overtime win against Incarnate Word last Thursday. The Cowgirls will look to bounce back from a 75-54 loss at league leading Northwestern State last Saturday.
Allison Baggett continues to lead the Cowgirls and ranks fourth in the SLC in scoring with 16.5 ppg.
Jayln Johnson is also averaging in double figures with 12.2 ppg. and is third in the SLC in assists, dishing out 4.6 per contest.
Senior
Talisa Boyd leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game and a 51.8 field goal shooting percent. Boyd had recorded double-doubles in her last two games. She is fourth on the team in scoring with 6.1 ppg.
Southeastern La. (6-11, 2-4 SLC) will be looking to snap a three game losing streak after falling 74-53 to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday.
The Lady Lions have three players currently averaging in double figures with Symone Miller leading the way with 13.7 ppg. Nanna Poole is averaging 11.8 ppg. and leads the team with 9.5 rpg. Elizabeth Styles is averaging 11.0 ppg.
The Cowgirls return home Saturday to host New Orleans in a 4 p.m. game. Kids Club and Rowdy's Readers members will be admitted to the game free. All kids attending the game are invited to join the Cowgirls on the court for the National Anthem and the softball and baseball teams will be on hand to sign autographs.
