MOUNT PLEASANT, Michigan – McNeese men's basketball will play its third game in six days on Monday when it takes on Central Michigan here at 6 p.m. in a game that will air live on ESPN3.
The Cowboys (1-4) are still searching for their first win over a Division I team this season. Central Michigan (2-3) will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak.
McNeese is coming off a 70-67 loss to Texas State on Saturday. Guard
Jamaya Burr scored a career-high 23 points in the game and will enter Monday's contest as the team leader with a 16.0 ppg average.
True freshman
Jarren Greenwood is chipping in 9.4 points a game and leads the team with 12 steals.
As a team, the Cowboys are averaging 68.6 points a game and are making 41 percent from the field.
CMU has two players averaging double-figure scoring on the season – Rayshawn Simmons at 17.4 ppg and Braylon Rayson with a 14.2 average.
The Chippewas beat the Cowboys 87-58 last year in Lake Charles in the first ever meeting in the series.
Following Monday's game, the Cowboys will be off until Dec. 9 when they visit Louisiana-Lafayette.
