LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball team will look to bounce back from a 105-46 road loss at no. 4 Baylor on Sunday when the Cowgirls host Louisiana-Monroe at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the first game of a doubleheader with the Cowboys who will be taking on LSU-Alexandria.
 
McNeese (6-3), has won six of its last eight games, will look to remain undefeated at home this season. The Cowgirls enter the contest 4-0 at home with wins over Rice, Southern-New Orleans, Louisiana College and Loyola-New Orleans. The game will be the final home game for the Cowgirls until Jan. 9 when McNeese will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in Southland Conference action.
 
The Cowgirls enter the game with three players (Allison Baggett, Amber Donnes, and Jayln Johnson), all averaging in double figures. Baggett leads the team with 13.1 ppg. and a 92.3 free throw shooting percent. Donnes, who is coming off a season tying 18 points against Baylor, is averaging 10.6 ppg. and leads the team with a 42.5 three-point field goal percent. Jayln Johnson is averaging 10.1 ppg. and leads the Cowgirls with 4.0 assists per game and 1.9 steals per game.
 
Louisiana-Monroe (5-3) has lost two of their last three games and is coming off a 69-57 home win over Nicholls. The Warhawks have also picked up wins against Louisiana College, LSU-Shreveport, Dillard, and Southeastern La. Their losses were to LSU in overtime, UL-Lafayette, and Texas Christian.
 
Senior forward Alyashia Hunter leads ULM in scoring with 18.3 ppg. Sophomore guard Chelsea Tieuel is second on the team with 11.3 ppg. and 18 steals. Sophomore forward leads with 8.4 rebounds per game.
 
Following Wednesday's game, the Cowgirls will travel to Ole Miss on Saturday for a noon game. The Cowgirls will remain on the road and will play at Louisiana Tech on Dec. 22 in the Cowgirls' final game before the Christmas break.
