LAKE CHARLES-- After a 90 minute rain delay, McNeese softball completed its Southland Conference series sweep over Houston Baptist with a 7-0 win Saturday. McNeese will travel to Baton Rouge Sunday to face sixth ranked Oklahoma in a single game beginning at noon. Admission for the game will be free.
McNeese (23-9, 9-0 SLC) opened the game up with three runs on no hits in the second inning. HBU's Emily Meuller got off to a rocky start in the inning by walking

Lakeyn Fontenot to lead off the inning. Drew gave the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead after scoring on a pass ball. A two RBI sac bunt by
Taylor Goree scored
Lakeyn Fontenot and
Taylor Schmidt for the 3-0 lead.
Erika Piancastelli gave McNeese a 4-0 lead with a solo home run over the centerfield wall. The long ball is her ninth of the season.
The final three runs of the game came off the bat of
Emily Vincent. Vincent's two RBI single in the fourth extended the McNeese lead to 6-0. She gave McNeese a 7-0 lead in the sixth with her third RBI of the game on a single to right that scored
Lauren Langner.
Vincent led McNeese at the plate with two hits and three RBI. McNeese stole eight bases and was led by Langner who had three.
Sophomore
Rachel Smith improved to 8-3 on the season with the complete game shutout. The shutout is Smith's team leading fourth on the season. Smith allowed only two base runners to reach second. She ended the game with seven strikeouts and allowed only one walk.
