LAKE CHARLES--  McNeese women's basketball returns to Burton Coliseum Wednesday night to host Incarnate Word at 7 p.m. The game is the second of four consecutive home games for the Cowgirls.
 
McNeese holds a 2-0 series record over UIW including a 104-101 double overtime win in San Antonio, Texas last season. The Cowgirls defeated UIW 92-37 in the first meeting between the two teams during the 2013-14 season.
 
McNeese (11-6, 3-2 SLC) is currently undefeated at home at 7-0 after a thrilling 82-79 win over Sam Houston State last Saturday. The Cowgirls have also won three of their last four games and will be looking to continue to move upward in the early conference race.
 
Senior Jayln Johnson who is coming off her sixth career double double with 23 points and a season high 12 assists, ranks second in the nation with a 92.6 free throw percent. Last week Johnson was a combined 18 of 19 from the free throw line including 11 of 11 against Abilene Christian. The Jennings product leads the Cowgirls in scoring with 13.6 ppg. and the SLC in assists per game (4.8) and assists/turnover ratio (2.28).
 
Allison Baggett also enters the game averaging 12.5 ppg. and is coming off a season high 25 points off 11 of 22 from the field including three 3-pointers against Sam Houston State.
 
Sophomore Frederica Haywood leads the Cowgirls and ranks third in the league with 136 rebounds and ranks fifth in the SLC with 8.0 per contest. Haywood is coming off one of her best rebounding nights of the season with 17, 10 coming on the defensive side.
 
Incarnate Word (4-11, 1-3 SLC) is coming off their first conference win of the season in a 70-66 road win at Southeastern La. that snapped 10 game losing streak. The Cardinals are led in scoring by Brianna Williams and Aricka Adams who are averaging 12.6 and 11.6 ppg., respectively. Yvonne Maosa leads UIW with 6.4 rpg.
