LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball will conclude its home schedule, this weekend with a 7 p.m. match against New Orleans on Thursday and a 12:30 p.m. match against Southeastern Louisiana which will also be senior day.
Fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes to both matches for a chance to win a McNeese swag bag. The winner will be announced on Monday, October 31.
McNeese (8-17, 4-6 SLC) has won four of its last six matches and is coming off an incredible five set win over Lamar last Saturday. McNeese lost the first two sets 23-25 and 15-25, before coming back and winning the next three straight sets to win the match.
The Cowgirls already faced the Privateers this season, winning the match on the road with 3-1.
Rebecca Korenek and
Rae Myers led the team with 16 and nine kills respectively, while
Alexandra Aguilera had 38 assists on the night.
Korenek is coming off a career high of 18 kills against Lamar, while
Hailee Showers tied her season high of 11 kills.
Jenny D'Alessandro leads the team in overall blocks with 63 on the season.
New Orleans (4-19, 1-9 SLC) is on a five match losing steak, dropping their last match in straight sets to Incarnate Word. The Privateers are lead by Jordan Yauch with 213 kills this season.
