LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball will the week with a match at Nicholls Tuesday night before concluding the regular season at Abilene Christian on Saturday.
McNeese (9-20, 5-9 SLC) enters the final week in the eighth and final spot for the Southland Conference Tournament. McNeese is one-half match ahead of ninth place Southeastern La. and one match behind seventh place Lamar. Southeastern La. will close out its season at UNO on Saturday while Lamar will host regular season conference champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday and Incarnate Word on Saturday. The Cowgirls will look to snap a three match losing streak after falling to Southeastern Louisiana, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Incarnate Word in its last three matches.
The Nicholls match will be the second of the season between both teams with McNeese picking up a 3-1 win in Lake Charles on Oct. 15. Nicholls (8-22, 3-11 SLC) enters the match on a two-match losing streak and has lost four of their last six matches. The Colonels are coming off the same losses as McNeese last week, at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and at Incarnate Word.
