LAKE CHARLES—Coming off a commanding 92-63 home win over New Orleans on Tuesday, the McNeese women's basketball team will travel to Thibodaux Saturday in the first of the next three road games. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at Stopher Gym.
 
McNeese (15-7, 7-3 SLC) will ride a four game winning streak into Saturday's game, the first of two meetings between the teams this season. Both teams will face each other in Lake Charles on Feb. 27. Nicholls has won the last four meetings with McNeese's last win over Nicholls coming during the 2012-13 season with an 86-70 win.
 
Seniors Jayln Johnson and Allison Baggett are both coming off a 17-point game in the win over UNO. Amber Donnes scored in double figures for the third straight game with 12. McNeese got added point production from reserves Hannah Cupit and Dede Sheppard who both chipped in 10 points apiece.  
 
Johnson continues to lead McNeese in scoring with 15.6 ppg., free throw percent (91.2), assists (5.5), and steals (1.5). Baggett is second on the team in scoring with 13.4 ppg.  Donnes is averaging 10.2 ppg. and is second on the team with a 38.9 three-point field goal percent. Frederica Haywood continues to lead the Cowgirls in rebounding with 8.5 per game and ranks third in the SLC with 10.7 in conference games only.
 
Nicholls (7-13, 3-5 SLC) has lost three of its last four games and is coming off a 63-61 home loss against Incarnate Word on Wednesday. The Colonels are led in scoring by LiAnn McCarthy's 12.8 ppg. McCarthy is joined in double figure scoring by Cassidy Barrios. Barrios is averaging 10.4 ppg. and is second on the team with 5.5 rpg. Marina Lilly leads the Colonels in rebounds with 6.5 per contest.
