McNeese (6-7, 1-1 SLC) is coming off a 96-65 home loss against Stephen F. Austin Monday night in what was an uncharacteristic defensive effort by the Cowgirls. The Cowgirls' defensive allowed SFA to score 58 points in the paint and 19 second chance points.

Amber Donnes was the only McNeese player to score in double figures, ending the game with 11 points.
Victoria Rachal continues to leads the Cowgirls in scoring with 9.5 ppg. and
Frederica Haywood leads with 9.2 ppg. Haywood moved into fifth place in McNeese career rebounds against SFA the other night and enters the game with 634 career rebounds.
Donnes and her teammates are eager to get back on the court against a winless (0-11, 0-1 SLC) Bearkat team that dropped its SLC opener, 61-51 at Houston Baptist Monday night.
Sam Houston State is led in scoring by Jasmine McCants (8.3 ppg.) and rebounds (5.7) by Lydia Baxter.
The Cowgirls will remain at home to face Houston Baptist this Saturday at 1 p.m.
