LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese women's basketball will conclude its three game home stand here Saturday and a week layoff before its next game with a 1 p.m. game against Houston Baptist.

McNeese (7-7, 2-1 SLC) is coming off a 79-56 Southland Conference win over Sam Houston State that saw the Cowgirls offense get back on track and ended the game with its best field goal percent of the season (47.5).
Sophomore guard
Dede Sheppard made the most of her first start of the season by scoring a career high 23 points. Sheppard was 9 of 12 from the field and a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Seniors
Amber Donnes and
Victoria Rachal also scored in double figures with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
After Thursday night's game, Donnes leads the Cowgirls in scoring (9.6 ppg.) and steals (1.9 spg.). Junior
Frederica Haywood and
Mercedes Rogers continue to command the boards for the Cowgirls averaging 8.9 and 8.2 rpg.
The Cowgirls will face a very young Houston Baptist team that comes into the game with a 3-10 overall record and a 1-2 conference record after falling 87-71 to Southeastern La. at home Thursday night.
Lisa Zderadicka leads HBU in scoring with 9.9 ppg. and Taylor Kollmorgen is averaging a team best 7.8 rpg.
