LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's volleyball will return to the court for two home matches this week beginning with Thursday's 7 p.m. match against Northwestern State. The Cowgirls will host Central Arkansas at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be streamed live and the link can be found on mcneesesports.com.
 
McNeese (12-9, 4-3 SLC) has won three of its last five games and are coming off a 31-1 loss to league leading Sam Houston State who is undefeated in the SLC with a 6-0 record. Northwestern State will enter Thursday's contest with an 8-12 overall record and a 3-2 conference record. The Demons have won three of their last four matches and last two in straight sets over Incarnate Word and most recently, a huge win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last Saturday. The sweep over the Islanders was the first time A&M-CC dropped a SLC match in straight sets since 2014.
 
Shanna Spree continues to lead the Cowgirls with 207 kills, 28 service aces, 72 blocks and a .337 hitting percent which ranks her third in the SLC. Angela McGownd leads the SLC with 437 digs and is averaging 5.40 per set while Adison Giambrone has 407 assists for an average of 5.02 per set.
