LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball will look to bounce back from a tough five set loss at the hands of Northwestern State on Thursday in a 12:30 p.m. match against Central Arkansas on Saturday. Fans can watch the match via live streaming on mcneesesports.com.
 
McNeese (12-10, 4-4 SLC) took a two set lead over the Lady Demons but dropped the next three including a thrilling 20-18 fifth set.
 
Central Arkansas, another tough opponent who is riding a six match winning streak comes to Lake Charles Saturday in second place in the league standings with a 6-1 record and the best overall record in the league at 17-2. UCA's only losses of the season were against Central Florida at home and a road match at Stephen F. Austin. The Sugar Bears enter the match following a 3-1 win over Nicholls on Thursday. The league leaders in kills (14.03), assists (12.93), service aces (1.69), are led by Samantha Anderson's .352 hitting percent and Elizabeth Armstrong's 10.61 assists per set.  
 
Sophomore Shanna Spree continues to lead McNeese with 214 kills, a .328 hitting percent, 29 service aces and 77 blocks. Sophomore Angela McGownd, who led the Cowgirls with 21 digs against the Lady Demons, also leads the conference and ranks second in the nation with 458 for an average of 5.33 per set. Setter Adison Giambrone leads the Cowgirls with 433 assists for an average of 5.03 per set. She is coming off a 26 assists night against Northwestern State.
