LAKE CHARLES—It didn't McNeese volleyball too long to pick up its second win of the season over Prairie View here Tuesday night with a straight set (25-19, 25-21, 25-20), one hour and four-minute victory to improve to 14-10 on the season. The loss drops the Panthers to 3-12 on the season.
McNeese was led in kills by sophomores
Keegan Nelms and
Katelyn Elliott who tallied 11 and 10 respectively. Nelms ended the night with an individual match high .667 hitting percent with only one error in 15 attempts.
Alexandra Aguilera and
Adison Giambrone who share the setting duties dished out 18 and 15 assists, respectively while libero
Angela McGownd was credited with seven digs. Freshman
Allison Lippert led all players with four blocks.
As a team, McNeese tied its season high with 10 service aces and were led from behind the line by Aguilera and
Madison Fontenot who both were credited with four apiece.
The Cowgirls will return to their Southland Conference schedule this weekend when they will travel to Stephen F. Austin Thursday and Lamar on Saturday.
