LAKE CHARLES—Coming off a huge Southland Conference road win at Central Arkansas Thursday night, McNeese volleyball will conclude its regular season with a 1 p.m. match at Northwestern State Saturday.
McNeese (19-11, 10-5 SLC) enters the match in a third place tie with Houston Baptist, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Sam Houston State in the standings. Northwestern State (14-16, 9-6 SLC) is in seventh place heading into the match.
The Cowgirls, winners of their last five matches currently have the longest winning streak in the conference following Thursday's win. McNeese will look to avenge a five set home loss to the Demons nearly a month ago.
Sophomores continue to lead the Cowgirls in several statistical categories with Shanna Spree leading with a .320 hitting percent, 106 blocks and 36 service aces. Spree is second with 281 kills. Keegan Nelms leads with 286 kills and is second on the team with 347 digs. Libero Angela McGownd now has 583 digs on the season for an average of 5.03 per set.
