McNeese (1-1) is coming off a big win against Ecclesia College earlier this week; the Cowboys defeated the Royals 101-54. Posting its first 100+ point performance since 2010, when McNeese defeated University of the Southwest 100-61.

Jarren Greenwood pulled down the most rebounds of all players, with seven boards. Including Greenwood's seven rebounds, the team would combine for a total of 44 rebounds- 10 more than the previous season's average.

"We'll be stepping back out into the fire again, when we play a good San Diego State team on Friday" head coach Dave Simmons said after the win.

San Diego State (1-1) is hosting the McNeese after a road game at Arizona State on Tuesday (Nov.14). The Aztecs dropped the contest 90-68 to the Sun Devils, despite having three players score 14 or more points and holding a six-point lead at the half.

SDSU was lead by Trey Kell, who scored 16 points in the loss. The senior out of San Diego also pulled down 10 rebounds for the team's first double-double of the season.

Simmons talked briefly about the upcoming game,"San Diego is a tremendous basketball team, they have size." And Simmons was right, SDSU's 14-man squad has eight players over 6'6", with players as tall as 7'1".

Friday's game will be only the second time in program history that the two teams have met, the first meeting in the series came in 2013, when the Aztecs defeated the Cowboys 65-36. For 30 minutes, McNeese State gave the 23rd-ranked team in the country in San Diego State an unexpected scare but the Aztecs went on a 25-3 run in the last nine minutes of the game to pull out the win.
