Women's Hoops Begins Four Game Home Stand Against LSUA

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball returns to Burton Coliseum Sunday to host LSU-Alexandria in the first of four straight home games for the Cowgirls. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. Fans can listen to the game on the McNeese Radio Network (1470/1290 AM) or watch it streamed live. Links can be found on mcneesesports.com
 
McNeese (1-1) is coming off a 100-34 road loss at no. 2 Texas Wednesday after picking up a 76-61 season opening win over Southern-New Orleans. LSUA comes into the game with a 0-1 record but have played four other exhibition games. The Generals' loss was 84-68 to Xavier (New Orleans).
 
Seniors Keara Hudnall and Mercedes Rogers lead McNeese in scoring and rebounding. Hudnall is averaging 10.5 ppg. and Rogers is averaging 8.0 boards per contest. Freshman Bre'Ashlee Jones leads with five steals and sophomore Caitlin Davis is dishing out 4.5 assists per game.
 
LSUA had three players score in double figures in the game against Xavier. Lillie Snowden led the team with 19 points and Katie Lemieux and Shelanita Starks scored 13 and 11, respectively. E'Layzha Bates and Starks both led the Generals with seven rebounds apiece.
 
Following Sunday's game, McNeese will host Grambling next Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader with the Cowboys. The Cowgirls will break for Thanksgiving then will host UL-Monroe on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. The home stand will conclude with a 7 p.m. game against Tulane on Nov. 29.
