LAKE CHARLES—After an eight-day layoff for semester finals, McNeese women's basketball will return to Burton Coliseum Monday, Dec. 11 to host Louisiana College. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. The game will be the final home game until the end of the month when the Cowgirls take on Northwestern State on Dec. 30 in its SLC home opener.
Following Monday's game, McNeese will have road games at nationally ranked Baylor (Dec. 13), Louisiana Tech (Dec. 18) and at SMU on Dec. 22 before breaking for the Christmas Holiday.
McNeese (3-4) is coming off a 98-86 triple overtime road loss at UL-Lafayette on Dec. 3. Seniors Dede Sheppard and Keara Hudnall recorded career highs with 27 and 26 points, respectively.
Both players along with sophomore Caitlin Davis are all averaging in double figures. Hudnall leads the team with 14.4 ppg., Sheppard is averaging 11.4 ppg. and Davis is averaging 10.4 ppg.
The Cowgirls also have three players averaging at least six rebounds per contest. Senior Jasmyn Carswell is pulling down 6.7 caroms per game, sophomore Bre'Ashlee Jones is averaging 6.6 per game and senior Mercedes Rogers is averaging 6.0.
La. College (5-2) is coming off a 69-68 home win against Hardin-Simmons on Dec. 2. The Wildcats are led in scoring by Kourtney McGhee's 13.4 ppg. game. Brooke Jones leads the team with 8.6 rpg.
