LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will look to avenge a 71-59 home loss to New Orleans in late January this Thursday night when the Cowgirls travel to New Orleans to take on the Privateers in a 7 p.m. game. The contest can be heard live on the McNeese Radio Network (1470/1290 AM). The game will also be streamed live and livestats will also be available. McNeese (11-12, 6-6 SLC) snapped its four game losing streak with a 78-61 win over Incarnate Word last Saturday. Junior Frederica Haywood moved into third place in McNeese career rebounds with 19 on the night. Haywood completed her seventh double double of the season by scoring 14 points. Seniors Victoria Rachal and Amber Donnes joined Haywood in double digit scoring with Rachal leading McNeese with 17 points and Donnes with 14.
 
Rachal currently leads the team in scoring with 10.4 ppg. while Heywood is tops in rebounds with 10.0 per game. Haywood also leads the league in rebounds (11.4) in conference games. The Mound Bayou, Mississippi native is shooting 44.4 percent from the field, the best on the team.
 
Donnes leads the team with 2.0 steals per game and is second in scoring with a 9.7 ppg. She has scored in double figures in five of the last six games while freshman Caitlin Davis is dishing out a team high 3.0 assists per game and is third on the team in scoring with a 9.2 average.
 
UNO (12-11, 7-6 SLC) is coming off an 85-70 road loss at Southeastern La. last Saturday. Junior Randi Brown leads the Privateers in scoring with 20.7 ppg. Brown burned the Cowgirls with 29 points that included five three-pointers in the victory in Lake Charles.
 
Sophomore Shania Woods leads UNO with 6.9 rpg. and picked up a double double against McNeese (11 pts., 14 reb.) in the first meeting between the two teams.
 
McNeese leads the all-time series 15-13 and 5-2 since UNO joined the league.
