LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will look to move one step closer to clinching a Southland Conference Tournament berth Wednesday night when the Cowgirls travel to Houston, Texas to take on Houston Baptist. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

McNeese (12-13, 7-7 SLC) enters the game in fifth place in the league standings with four games left in the regular season. After Wednesday's game, McNeese will travel to Corpus Christi Saturday, Sam Houston State next Thursday before closing out the regular season at home against Lamar on March 4.

Victoria Rachal and
Amber Donnes have asserted themselves on offense and have become leaders on the court.
Rachal, the native of Natchitoches, Louisiana, continues to lead McNeese in scoring with 11.2 ppg. and has scored in double figures in six of the last eight games.
Donnes, a Hammond native, is coming off a game that saw her tie her career high with 21 points against Nicholls. She leads McNeese in 3-pointers made (39) and steals (1.9) and is second in scoring with 10.0 ppg.
Junior
Frederica Haywood continues to be a force on both ends of the boards. The product of Mound Bayou, Mississippi is pulling down 10.2 rpg. and ranks 12
th in the nation in offensive rebounds with four per contest. Haywood has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in six of the last seven game and also leads McNeese with a 44.9 field goal percent.
HBU (5-19, 3-11 SLC) enters the game on a four game losing streak and have lost seven of their last eight game. HBU led in scoring by Lisa Zderadicka's 10.6 ppg. Taylor Kollmorgen leads the Huskies in rebounds with 6.4 per game.
McNeese will look to pick up its second win over HBU after picking up a 68-53 win in Lake Charles on Jan. 7.
