LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese women's basketball will travel to Huntsville, Texas Thursday night for its final regular season road contest against Sam Houston State 5:15. McNeese (12-15, 7-9 SLC) could clinch a Southland Conference Tournament spot with a win over Sam Houston State (3-23, 3-13 SLC). A win would also give the Cowgirls the season sweep over SHSU since the the Cowgirls picked up a 79-56 in Lake Charles on Jan. 5, the second conference game for McNeese.
The Cowgirls enter the game having lost two of their last three games. In both losses McNeese has failed to score late in the game allowing both Houston Baptist and New Orleans to come away with wins.

Victoria Rachal and
Amber Donnes lead McNeese in scoring and are the only two double figure scorers on the team. Rachal is averaging 11.4 ppg. and Donnes is averaging 10.5 ppg. Junior
Frederica Haywood leads the Cowgirls and ranks second in the SLC with 11.4 boards in conference games.
The LadyKats will look to play spoiler in its season finale as SHSU is out of contention for a tournament spot. SHSU but did pick up a 92-73 home win over Northwestern State last Thursday before suffering a 72-32 loss to Abilene Christian on Saturday.
McNeese conclude its regular season at home on Saturday in a 1 p.m. game against Lamar. Seniors
