PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas—McNeese volleyball extended its winning streak to five matches here Tuesday night with a straight set (25-22, 26-24, 25-14) road win over Prairie View in front of a loud and spirited crowd. The win improves McNeese's record to 7-4 overall.
"Tonight was a great opportunity for our players to play in front of a loud, spirited environment, " said head coach
Ashleigh Fitzgerald. " Credit Prairie View- they had a lot of fans there who made a ton of noise. It was difficult for us to communicate most of the night but we definitely go some takeaways. We found a way to pull out ahead in the 20s and we got experience keeping composure with the noise," Fitzgerald added.
Led by seven kills apiece from seniors
Rae Myers and
Jenny D'Alessandro, McNeese ended the night with a .329 team hitting percent that saw the Cowgirls commit eight hitting errors. D'Alessandro also made a big impact at the net as she was credited with four blocks.
Shanna Spree and
Keegan Nelms pitched in with six kills apiece and Spree continued her strong serving by picking up two more aces on the year for a team high 15.
Adison Giambrone and
Alexandra Aguilera combined for 28 assists with Giambrone leading the way with 16 and Aguilera dishing out 12. Aguilera led all players with three service aces.

McNeese will take to the road again this weekend, traveling to Illinois to take part in the Western Illinois Buffalo Wild Wings Invitational beginning Friday. McNeese will face Drake and Valparaiso Friday and Western Illinois on Saturday.
