McNeese (5-15, 3-2 SLC) is coming off a 3-1 home victory over Nicholls last Saturday and a come from behind 3-2 victory against UNO last Thursday.
Northwestern State (6-10, 2-4 SLC) has dropped three of its SLC matches to the top two teams in the league standings. Two losses came at the hands of first place Stephen F. Austin and one against second place Central Arkansas. The Lady Demons are in the midst of a four-match home stand.
The Cowgirls enter the match with the second best team hitting percent (.247) and blocks (53) in conference matches.
Freshman
Paige Havel, who is coming off a career week after picking up a combined 17 blocks last week including a career high 10 against UNO, leads the SLC with 37 blocks for an average of 1.76 per set in conference matches. Havel also ranks seventh with a .364 hitting percent and 20
th in kills with 2.52 per set.
Ebony Lewis ranks seventh with a .354 hitting percent and
Allison Lippert ranks 15
th with a .315 hitting percent.
Caitlin Sharrock ranks fifth with 9.47 assists per set and 14
th with five service aces.
Angela McGownd ranks 12
th in digs with 3.67 per set and
Keegan Nelms ranks 19
th in kills with 2.57 per set.
The Cowgirls will conclude their weekend with a 1 p.m. match at Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday.
