ABILENE, Texas- The McNeese soccer squad will continue Southland Conference play when it travels to Abilene Christian on Friday night.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be available via live stream through mcneesesports.com
McNeese (9-5-1, 3-2-1 SLC) will look to bounce back after falling to UCA 1-0 the last time out in a hard-fought, physical game as the Bears handed McNeese its first loss in the previous six outings.
The Cowgirls are currently in the top five in 10 different statistical categories in the conference, ranking first in corner kicks; second in shots and assists; third in points and goals; fourth in shutouts; and fifth in goals per game, goals allowed, goals against average, and assists.
Abilene Christian (8-4-1, 3-2-1 SLC) is coming off a weekend in which it defeated Northwestern State by a 3-0 score, and tied Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 0-0 in double overtime. The Wildcats are currently unbeaten at home with a 5-0-1 record heading into Friday's match.
The Cowgirls defeated the Wildcats in their regular season match-up last year 3-0 behind a hat trick from former all-conference forward
Savannah LaRicci.
ACU got revenge by beating the Cowgirls in the first round of the conference tournament in a shootout and ending the Cowgirls' season after a stellar 12-win campaign.
The Cowgirls will look to use that as fuel when they hit the field in Friday's match.
