Volleyball Returns To The Court To Host Lamar Tuesday Night

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball returns to Memorial Gym Tuesday night to host Lamar (6-17, 3-9 SLC) at 6:30 p.m. in its Youth Appreciation Night. Kids ages 12 and under will be admitted free. Live streaming and live stats will be available with links located on mcneesesports.com.
 
McNeese (7-20, 5-7 SLC) will be playing in its third straight home match and will be looking to snap a three match losing streak after coming off home losses to Stephen F. Austin and Central Arkansas last week.
 
The Cowgirls will also be looking to pick up their second win over the Cardinals this season. McNeese defeated Lamar 3-1 in Beaumont, Texas on September 29.
 
Junior Keegan Nelms continues to lead the Cowgirls in kills with 240 on the year, Angela McGownd has a team best 406 digs and is averaging 4.27 per set. Sophomore setter Caitlin Sharrock has 547 assists and is dishing out 6.44 per set. Sharrock also leads the team with 24 service aces. Freshman Paige Havel continues to lead McNeese and the league in blocks in conference matches with 68. As a team, McNeese also leads the SLC with 115 blocks in conference matches.
 
Lamar comes to Lake Charles having lost its last six matches. The last Lamar win was a 3-2 win over New Orleans in Beaumont on Oct. 6.
