LAKE CHARLES- The McNeese Cowgirl soccer squad returns to the field Sunday afternoon when it hosts Central Arkansas at 12 p.m. for a huge Southland Conference match-up.
This game was originally schedule to take place on September 23, but due to severe weather conditions, the game was postponed to Sunday.
UCA is currently sitting No. 2 in the conference standings with McNeese only two spots back at No. 4.
The Cowgirls (9-4-1, 3-1-1 SLC) look to continue its success at home after defeating Nicholls Friday night 1-0 to extend their undefeated streak to six straight at home.
McNeese, in its last five matches is 4-0-1, defeating Nicholls, Sam Houston State, Northwestern State, and Jackson State. The only game not won was a tie with Stephen F. Austin.
UCA (9-3-1, 4-1 SLC) is coming off a 2-0 win against Stephen F. Austin, its second straight victory and sixth win in its last seven games.
McNeese holds a slight 7-5-1 edge in the all-time series over Central Arkansas, splitting the last four games.
"We know we need to be the more physical team in this match up and we need to do everything we can to keep them on their heels and chasing us because when they get into the flow of a match, they are incredibly dangerous," said McNeese head coach
