WBB: Cowgirls Host LSUA at 11 a.m. Wednesday

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball returns home to play their first game in the new Health and Human Performance (H&HP) Complex on Wednesday, Nov. 21 when they will host LSU-Alexandria at 11 a.m. in its Kids Day game. All kids will be admitted free who are accompanied with paid adult.
 
McNeese (0-4) is still looking for its first win of the season despite coming close a few times. The Cowgirls recently dropped a 69-60 road loss at Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday.
 
Freshman Callie Maddox continues to lead McNeese in scoring with 13.8 ppg. The redshirt freshman has scored in double figures in all but one game this season. Maddox also leads the team with a 73.1 free throw shooting percent, having made 19 of 26 attempts.
 
Another freshman, Divine Tanks is the team leader in rebounds with 10.0 per contest. She has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in two games and is coming off a 14-rebound game against ULM.
 
LSUA (4-2) is a NAIA school that is a member of the Red River Athletic Conference. The Generals wins have come against Southern-N.O., Loyola-N.O., Florida Memorial and Xavier (La.). Their losses are to Langston and most recently a 101-94 home loss to Dillard (La.) last Saturday.
 
Four players are averaging in double figures with Danyale Bayonne leading the way with 19.5 ppg. Kelsey Thaxton and Courtney Dawsey are averaging 12.5 ppg. and 16.8 ppg., respectively.
 
Two players are averaging at least seven rebounds per contest. Shelanita Starks leads the team with 7.7 rpg. Bayonne is averaging 7.0 rpg.
