LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will travel to the Crescent City Saturday to face New Orleans for the second time this season. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. The game can be heard on the McNeese Radio Network (Cajun Radio 1290/1470 AM).
McNeese (11-13, 7-6 SLC) will look to bounce back from a 51-45 home loss to Central Arkansas on Wednesday. The Cowgirls will also be looking to avenge a 77-64 loss to the Privateers in Lake Charles on January 6.
Sophomore Caitlin Davis and Dede Sheppard continue to lead the Cowgirls in scoring with 11.6 ppg. and 10.3 ppg., respectively. Davis nearly picked up her second career double double against UCA with 10 points and nine assists.
Senior Mercedes Rogers leads the team with 7.3 rpg. while Bre'Ashlee Jones is averaging 6.9 rpg.
McNeese continues to lead the conference in rebounds (42.8), ranks second in rebound margin (+5.5) and offensive rebounds (16.4) and ranks third in defensive rebounds (26.4) in conference game only.
UNO (12-13, 8-6 SLC) is coming off an 82-73 home win over Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday.
As a team, the Privateers still lead the Southland in free throw shooting percentage, hitting 361-of-472 for 76.5%. New Orleans is ranked second in defending the 3-pointer, allowing only 142-of-499 for only 28.5%.
Senior Randi Brown continues to lead the Southland Conference in scoring averaging 21.5 points a game. The Houma, Louisiana native became the second UNO player to reach 2,000 career-points joining former New Orleans great Sandra Hodge (1980-84).
