Hill and Ugochukwu To Be Honored at Senior Day Versus Lamar

LAKE CHARLES – It's here, the last game to be played by McNeese Cowboy basketball inside of Burton Coliseum and with its result comes big implications. McNeese will face Lamar University on Saturday (Mar.3) in the hopes of locking down the final spot in the eight-team Southland Conference tournament.
 
Seniors LaBarrius Hill and Stephen Ugochukwu will be honored on Saturday as they play their final match in Burton Coliseum.
 
Hill and Ugochukwu are currently McNeese's top blocking duo, combining for a total 73 blocks, giving the Cowboys a 4.5 bpg average.

Not only is it a last for Hill and Ugochukwu, but also for the other 11 Cowboys as well, as the McNeese basketball programs will have a new home for the 2018-19 season at the new Health and Human Performance Complex on in front of the Jack V Doland Fieldhouse.
 
The Cardinals (19-11, 11-6) are riding into Lake Charles with on a four-game win streak, most recently defeated SFA 71-66 on the road.
 
The Cowboys (10-17, 7-10) are hosting Lamar coming off an 82-70 loss at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. McNeese was heavily outrebounded in the loss, 45-28; the last time the Cowboys lost with only 28 rebounds, they were in Beaumont.
 
The last time the Cowboys and Cardinals met, sophomore Kalob Ledoux led the Cowboys with his fourth 20-point performance of the season, as the Cowboys fell to Lamar 86-80.
 
Transfer junior Quatarrius Wilson followed with 19 points and eight rebounds, while junior guard Jarren Greenwood posted 13 points of his own.
 
At halftime, McNeese was shooting an impressive 57% from the arc, hitting four of its seven attempts. McNeese outscored Lamar 30-13 in the first ten minutes of the game, before the Cardinals would light its fire and go to outscore the Cowboys 30-14 in the final ten minutes of the first half.
 
McNeese finished 13-15 at the line (87%), while Lamar was able to earn 30 out of 39 attempts (77%).
 
The series continues to weigh in favor of the Cardinals, 55-47 after their 102nd meeting back in January.
 
Ledoux is currently leading the team with 14.9 points per game, Greenwood follows just behind Ledoux with 13.0 points per game.
 
Despite only managing one rebound and two points in the loss at AMCC, Wilson is still averaging a double-double overall (10.1 rpg, 11.0 ppg), the only player in the Southland to do so.
