"Northwestern State is an in-state rival and a conference game, so we weren't surprised that the game got a little chippy tonight," said Fitzgerald. "They have a good coaching staff over there, both teams are working hard, but at the end of the day getting our first conference victory and heading into Sunday 1-1 is big for us."
