HUNTSVILLE, Texas- The McNeese Cowgirl soccer squad will continue Southland Conference play on Sunday afternoon against Sam Houston State.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

McNeese (7-4-1, 1-1-1 SLC) will head in to the match coming off a double-overtime tie at Stephen F. Austin on Friday night to stay in contention for the regular season title with a month to play in the season.

The Cowgirls are currently tied for second in the league with 24 goals scored and third in total points with 65.

Senior midfielder
Morgan Middleton is tied for sixth in the league with five goals scored on the season while sophomore forward
Havana Johnson is tied for eighth with four goals to her credit.

Preseason all-conference goalkeeper
Emma Roccaforte is tied for first in the league with three shutouts on the year and third with 0.93 goals against average.

Sam Houston State (1-7-3, 0-2-2 SLC) is also coming off a 1-1 double overtime tie against Lamar in its last outing. The Bearkats are winless in conference play so far this year with ties against Houston Baptist and Lamar and a loss to UCA and Corpus Christi.

SHSU is back at home after being on the road for three of their last four games.

The Cowgirls will be looking for their third straight win over Sam Houston State after winning the last two meetings by identical 1-0 scores.
