FRISCO, Texas – McNeese landed a total of 77 student-athletes on the 2018 Southland Conference Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll, the league announced on Thursday.
The Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in the sports of men's and women's cross country, football, soccer and volleyball who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average in the semester of their sport.
In addition to the McNeese student-athletes who were named to the Honor Roll, 19 of those posted a perfect 4.0 GPA with 12 hailing from the Cowgirl soccer team.
Breaking down the 77 Honor Roll recipients, 31 are on the football team, 22 soccer, 11 women's cross country, seven men's cross country, and six volleyball.
Also, seven McNeese student-athletes were named to their respective sport SLC All-Academic teams – Niall Holt in men's cross country; Gladys Jerotich and Alex Eykelbosch in women's cross country; Rachel Palet in soccer; Keegan Nelms in volleyball; and Alex Kjellsten and Gunnar Raborn in football.
Central Arkansas led the conference with 122 total honorees, followed by Abilene Christian (108), Incarnate Word (104), Northwestern State (93), Southeastern Louisiana (81), Houston Baptist (79), McNeese (77), Sam Houston State (71), Stephen F. Austin (66), Nicholls (61), Lamar (57), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (45), and New Orleans (25).
