LAKE CHARLES- The McNeese Cowgirls (9-4-0, 5-1-0 SLC) are set to hit the road to take on HBU (2-13-0, 1-7-0) Friday night in Southland Conference action.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. in Houston. The Cowgirls are looking for their first win over the Huskies since 2016 and dropped last year's contest by a 2-1 double overtime decision.

SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE
Despite the pair of losses last week, McNeese clinched its spot in 2019 Southland Conference Tournament for the 15th time in program history. It is also the fourth straight year that the Cowgirls will be headed to the tournament.

The Cowgirls are currently in seventh place in the league standings but just on game out of second and two out of first place. HBU is in 11th place in the conference.
Head coach Drew Fitzgerald has led his team to the tournament all four seasons that he has been at the helm.

PREVIOUS OUTINGS
The Cowgirls are returning after two conference losses in the past weekend. The Cowgirls are now on a three-match losing streak and are headed away for the first time since they defeated Nicholls in their last win.
On Friday night McNeese dropped a 2-0 decision to UIW that would keep the Pokes out of the running for the number one spot.
The Cowgirls remained scoreless on the weekend after being shutout 3-0 by ACU Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies are returning home after a 3-1 loss to Northwestern State last Sunday. HBU lost in a match that saw junior midfielder Avery Cortez earn her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Junior forward Havana Johnson is currently sixth in conference in shots with 42 shots and fifth in shots per game with 3.00 per game.
Anna Watson leads the team with six goals and is closely followed by Havana Johnson with five and Delana Friesen with four. Four of Watson's goals are game-winning goals. Â
Maddie Neidig, Keely Morrow, and Brianna Mascia lead the team in assists, each with three.
