VB: McNeese Takes On League Leading SFA Saturday

LAKE CHARLES—Coming off its first Southland Conference win of the season over Abilene Christian Thursday, McNeese volleyball returns to the H&HP Complex Saturday for a bout with preseason favorite Stephen F. Austin at 11:30 a.m.
 
Due to the McNeese home football game against Southeastern Louisiana, fans planning on attending the volleyball match are asked to park in Lot E which is located on the East side of the football stadium across from the practice fields. Entrance to the lot will be from Louisiana Avenue. Parking and doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and admission is free.  
 
Saturday's match will be streamed live (subscription) and live stats will also be available on mcneesesports.com.
 
McNeese (8-7, 1-2 SLC) picked up a straight set win over ACU Thursday that saw the Cowgirls put forth a solid performance in the victory. The win also snapped a three-match losing skid.
 
Heading into the SFA match, junior transfer Alexis Lambert leads the team with 122 kills and is coming off an 11-kill match against ACU. Lambert has recorded double figure kills in the last six matches and is hitting .265.  
 
Senior Keegan Nelms has 119 kills on the season and Macee Krpec has 107. Allison Lippert leads the Cowgirls at the net with 31 blocks along with 20 service aces while Angela McGownd tops the team with 290 digs.
 
SFA (15-1, 3-0 SLC) enters the match having won 19 straight sets which is tied with No. 1 ranked Baylor for the nation's longest streak of consecutive sets won. The Ladyjacks are receiving AVCA Top 25 votes this season, have also won its last 20 conference matches after defeating Lamar in straight set Thursday night in Beaumont.
