LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball couldn't find an answer for league leading Stephen F. Austin's high-powered offense and stout defense here Saturday in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-16) Southland Conference loss.
McNeese (8-8, 1-3 SLC) struggled to get into any kind of rhythm and when they did, SFA's (16-1, 4-0 SLC) defense wouldn't allow it to last long as the Ladyjacks ended the match with a .327 hitting percent, 54 digs, and 16 blocks (14 assisted, two solos).
On the other hand, McNeese had its fair share of solid defense during the match, ending with 44 digs but only picked up four block assists with two coming from
Ajani Hodges.
Alexis Lambert and
Allison Lippert led McNeese with eight kills apiece while
Madison Fontenot led with 11 digs.
SFA continued its streak of sets won, now at 22 and extended its consecutive SLC matches won to 21 with today's win.
Corin Evan's led the Ladyjacks with a double-double (11 kills, 13 digs). Margaret Dean also picked up 13 digs and Madelynn Miller was credited with 12.
