McNeese visits Wisconsin at 6 on Wednesday on the BTN

MADISON, Wisconsin – Fresh off a record-setting night in a 104-33 victory over Southern-New Orleans, McNeese will step up in competition on Wednesday night when it visits the Big Ten's Wisconsin Badgers for the Cowboys' fourth game in an eight-day span.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Kohl Center will broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. The game is one of three the Cowboys will play as part of the Legends Classic. The Legends Classic is an annual, early-season tournament which began in 2007 and features eight teams from eight different conferences.
 
McNeese (1-2) dominated from start to finish against SUNO on Monday night, scoring the first 10 points of the game and never looked back as Dru Kuxhausen (Cooks-housen) and Sam Baker combined to hit 14 of 19 from three-point range and score 44 points.
 
As a team, the Cowboys broke the school record for most 3s in a game with 19 total, bettering the old mark of 15, and a new record in three-point field goal shooting at 63.3 percent for the game.
 
Kuxhausen ended the night with 23 points on 7 of 10 shooting from long range while Baker added 21 points on 7 of 9 from behind the arc. Both flirted with the single-game record of nine 3s held by Diego Kapelan.
 
McNeese will enter Wednesday's game with the Badgers (1-1) ranked 12th in the nation with 30 three-point field goals made and 16th in three field goal percentage at 46.2 percent.
 
Individually, Kuxhausen is ranked fourth in all of basketball with 12 threes made and 33rd with 4.0 threes made per game while Baker is ranked 35th in the country with a 66.7 aim behind the arc.
 
Three players are averaging double-figure scoring on the season, led by Kuxhausen's 17.0 mark. A.J. Lawson is tipping in 15.7 points per game while Sha'Markus Kennedy is added 13.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest. Roydell Brown (7.7 pts, 5.3 reb.) and Trey Johnson (5.0 pts, 3.5 reb.) are expected to join Lawson, Kuxhausen and Kennedy in the starting lineup.
 
As a team, the Cowboys are shooting .489 from the field on the season and .462 from long range while Wisconsin is hitting .402 from the field and .216 from three-point land.
 
The Badgers defeated Eastern Illinois 65-52 in their last outing as Kobe King led the squad with 18 points. Nate Reuvers finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds and was one blocked shot shy of reaching a triple double.
 
SERIES: This will be the first meeting between McNeese and Wisconsin. The Cowboys are 0-6 all-time against members of the Big Ten Conference with their most recent matchup being against Purdue to open up the 2017-18 season.
 
NEXT UP: McNeese will remain on the road when it visits New Mexico at 5 p.m. (CT) on Saturday in another Legends Classic game. The Cowboys will then return home next Monday to host Arlington Baptist.
