WBB: Cowgirls Open Season At SMU Tuesday

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will open its 2019-20 season Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Southern Methodist with an 11:30 a.m. tip-off time. The game will mark the start of head coach Kacie Cryer's fourth season at the helm of the Cowgirl program.
 
The game will be streamed free of charge and can be heard on Cajun Radio (1470/1290 AM) with Bruce Merchant on the call. Live stats will also be provided. All links can be found on mcneesesports.com.  
 
The Cowgirls return nine letterwinners including all five starters from last season. Four seniors (Regan Bolton, Bre'Ashlee Jones, Sky Jasper, Damilola Balogun) will enter their final season as a Cowgirl.
 
Sophomore All-Southland Conference honorable mention selection Callie Maddox returns as the Cowgirls' leading scorer after averaging 13.4 ppg. as a freshman. McNeese also returns its top rebounder in Balogun who averaged 8.2 rpg. a year ago.
 
The Cowgirls will return home following the game to host Centenary on Friday, Nov. 8 in their home opener. The game will be the first of two home games in the month of November for the Cowgirls.

•- Following its home opener against Centenary, McNeese will be on the road for three straight, at Arkansas, UL-Lafayette, and UAB before returning home to host Rice on Nov. 27.
