Box Score LORMAN, Mississippi – The McNeese women's tennis team put together its first winning streak of the season with a 7-0 sweep of Alcorn St. on Sunday.

McNeese (3-4) took an early lead in doubles due to a forfeit by Alcorn St (0-10).

At doubles No. 3, Marija Mastilovic and Charoline Erlandsson would win their match by forfeit due to no opponent.

At doubles No.1, Giovanna Fioretti and Dalia Ahmed would take care of Alcorn's Anastasia Vaganova and Stefany Grlj 6-2 to secure the doubles point for the Cowgirls.

McNeese's Stella Carra and Sofia San Jose Moreno would have their match against Bianca Birkenstock and Klavdija Bukovec go unfinished while trailing 4-3.

In singles action, McNeese would take an immediate 3-0 team lead as Carra and Charlotte Ziegler would win their matches by forfeit at singles No. 5 and 6.

At singles No. 2, McNeese's Erlandsson would blank Birkenstock in consecutive sets 6-0 to secure the team victory for the Cowgirls.

Next to finish, Mastilovic would take care of business at singles No. 3 to secure a straight set victory over Bukovec 6-1, 6-1.

Ahmed would finish next for the Cowgirls at singles No. 4. The Cowgirl freshman would defeat Alcorn's Veronika Pytikova in straight sets 6-0, 6-4.

Finishing last on the day, Fioretti would defeat Vaganova in singles No.1 action 6-2, 6-2.

Next up, the Cowgirls will travel west for matches against UTSA, Feb. 15, and Texas State, Feb. 16, to close out their road stretch before returning home to face-off against Tyler Junior College on Feb. 24.
